Time was when a gentleman of quality wouldn’t leave the house without a carnation sprig at his buttonhole. Nowadays that does seem a trifle Hercule Poirot for modern taste but I’ve a soft spot for this blousy flower. The pinks against the soft grey/blue ground make this a very versatile shirt.
